| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, the scalp knotted at the throat with the animal's forepaws visible at the neck. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic facial features and flowing curls framing the face. The fillet of the lion pelt and the mane are rendered with crisp detail characteristic of the Magnesia mint. The field is plain, with a beaded border visible at the coin's periphery. |
