| Reverse description | Upright club flanked on the left by an owl standing right atop the ethnic inscription, and on the right by a strung bow and quiver. The Greek ethnic EPY is inscribed vertically to the left of the club, and the magistrate's name ΦΑΝΝΟΘΕΜΙΣ is inscribed vertically to the right, flanking the principal devices. A small additional symbol appears in the lower field. The composition is characteristic of Erythraian civic coinage of the mid-fourth century BC, combining Heraklean attributes with civic and magistrate identifiers. |
