| Obverse description | Draped bust of Ohrmazd I facing right, wearing a diademed crown surmounted by a distinctive korymbos — the characteristic Sasanian hair bundle enclosed in a spherical cover — with flowing robes visible at the shoulder. The king is depicted with a full curled beard and elaborately styled hair, rendered in the bold, high-relief style typical of early Sasanian coinage. A Middle Persian (Pahlavi) legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border, identifying the royal titulature of the monarch. |
