Obverse description Bare-headed and laureate bust of Nero facing right, depicted with youthful features characteristic of the early years of his reign. The effigy shows a draped shoulder, rendered in the prevailing Julio-Claudian portrait style. The encircling legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan, partially visible on the irregular silver surface. The portrait displays the typical Roman imperial convention of idealized realism, with the wreath of laurel leaves clearly discernible crowning the head.
