| Reverse description | Central fire altar with attendants flanking on either side, depicted in the inherited Sasanian iconographic tradition, rendered in a schematic hammered style. Two stylized figures stand in attendance at the altar, a design directly derived from late Sasanian prototypes. Small crescent or star symbols appear in the field beside the attendants. An Arabic marginal legend encircles the design within a circular border, reflecting the Islamic administrative overlay on the inherited Sasanian reverse type characteristic of early Abbasid-period coinage from Sijistan. |
