Reverse description The archer-king Arsaces I, or a deified Arsacid founder, is depicted seated right upon an omphalos, holding a strung bow in his extended right hand in the traditional Parthian dynastic type. A circular dotted border frames the central design, and a multi-line Greek legend surrounds the figure reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΝ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ, proclaiming the king as Great King of Kings. A control letter or monogram appears to the outer left of the design in the field.
