Reverse description Arsakes I, the dynastic founder of the Parthian Empire, depicted seated to the right on an omphalos throne, holding a bow in his extended right hand — the emblematic weapon of Parthian kingship. The central design is set within a rectangular beaded border, outside which a wreath of ivy or olive branches encircles the entire composition. A Greek legend runs around the design between the beaded border and the wreath. Below the throne, additional letters or a mint monogram may be present.
