Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles facing right, depicted beardless and wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp knotted beneath the chin and the gaping jaws framing the face. The musculature and curling locks of the lion skin are rendered with fine relief characteristic of late fourth-century Macedonian die-cutting. The portrait follows the Lysimachean adoption of the Heraclean type derived from Alexander III coinage. A beaded border encircles the field.
