| Obverse description | Facing right, the youthful heroic head of Heracles in three-quarter profile, depicted wearing the Nemean lion's skin headdress, with the scalp drawn over the crown and the open jaws framing the face. The rendering follows the established Alexandrine iconographic tradition, with fine naturalistic detail in the lion's mane and the hero's features. The portrait fills the flan with confident, deeply engraved strokes characteristic of early Hellenistic celature. |
