| Obverse description | Youthful head of Heracles facing right, beardless, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress with the scalp knotted beneath the chin and the paws draped over the shoulders. The portrait follows the canonical Alexander type, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic modeling of the facial features. A beaded border encircles the design. No legend appears on the obverse. |

The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs to the right of the enthroned figure, denoting the coin's issue in the name of Alexander. |
