| Obverse description | Head of the youthful, beardless Heracles facing right, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a headdress, with the beast's jaws framing the forehead and the paws knotted at the neck. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with carefully articulated curling locks visible beneath the lion skin. The fleshy, idealised facial features are consistent with the Alexander-type coinage and convey the divine heroic identity of the subject. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered silver issues of this period. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a low throne-stool, his body draped from the waist, holding an eagle perched on his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his raised left hand. In the left field, a forepart of a lion to the left appears above a monogram. Beneath the throne, either a head wearing a Phrygian cap or a griffin's head appears as a control mark, distinguishing the two emission varieties. The Greek legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ ('of King Lysimachus') runs along the right field and exergual area, identifying the issuing authority despite the coin's use of the Alexandrine type. |
