| Obverse description | Youthful laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with elegantly styled long hair swept back beneath a laurel wreath and falling in curling locks at the nape of the neck. The facial features are delicately modelled with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a refined profile characteristic of 3rd-century BC Carian coinage. The field is plain, with no legend or additional devices. The high-relief portrait fills much of the flan, reflecting accomplished die-cutting of the period. |
