Obverse description Head of the nymph Sinope facing left, her hair elaborately dressed and bound, wearing a stephane or wreath, with loose curls falling behind the neck. An eagle is depicted perched on the dolphin to the right of the portrait, a characteristic Sinopean iconographic device. The bust is rendered in fine high relief, typical of late Classical Greek die-cutting, and the whole is framed by a beaded border encircling the flan.

Reverse description An eagle displayed with wings spread, standing atop a dolphin shown horizontally across the field, the composition emblematic of Sinope's maritime identity. The magistrate's name ΚΡΗΘ (Krethe) appears in Greek letters in the upper field, flanking the eagle's body, while the ethnic ΣΙΝΩ (for ΣΙΝΩΠΗ, Sinope) is inscribed along the lower field. The design is bold and well-struck in the Classical tradition, with clear articulation of the eagle's plumage and the dolphin's form.
