| Obverse description | Full-length effigy of King Kanishka I standing facing, wearing a crown and diadem, clad in Kushan royal attire with a long coat and boots, holding a long spear or trident upright in his right hand while extending his left hand to sacrifice over a small altar at lower left. The figure is rendered in the distinctive frontal Kushan style, with bold, somewhat schematic relief typical of the Kushan hammered copper coinage. A Bactrian legend in the field surrounds the royal effigy. |
