Obverse description Youthful head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion-skin headdress, with the scalp tied beneath the chin and the mane rendered in bold, deeply incised striations fanning across the left field. The facial features are finely modelled in the Hellenistic tradition, with a prominent brow, almond-shaped eye, and softly defined chin. The truncation of the neck is visible at the lower right, and the coin exhibits the characteristic slightly irregular flan of a hammered issue.
