| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a backless throne, his right arm outstretched bearing an eagle, and his left hand resting on a tall sceptre. In the left field, a palm branch adorned with fillets serves as a mint control symbol; in the right field, a spear-head appears as a secondary control mark. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the issue as struck in the name of Alexander. The composition follows the canonical reverse type established under Alexander III and continued by his successors. |
