Obverse description Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, depicted without beard, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the jaws of the beast framing the hero's face and the pelt's mane cascading in bold relief across the neck and field. The modelling of the facial features is crisp and naturalistic, characteristic of the fine Lysippan-influenced style prevalent on Alexander-type coinage. The flan is slightly irregular at the periphery, as typical of hammered production at this mint. No legend appears on the obverse.
