| Obverse description | Head of Herakles facing right, wearing the scalp of the Nemean lion as a helmet, the lion's muzzle covering the top of the cranium and its forepaws knotted at the neck. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with well-modelled facial features, a dotted border visible along the coin's periphery. The reverse of the lion skin displays detailed incised musculature, characteristic of the Alexander coinage type. |
