| Obverse description | Right-facing head of the deified Herakles in three-quarter profile, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress, the gaping jaw and mane rendered with fine engraving characteristic of the Kolophon mint. The ear and facial features are crisply modeled in the Hellenistic style, with the lion's forelegs knotted beneath the chin. The dotted border of the flan is visible around the periphery. |
