| Obverse description | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles facing right, clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress whose scalp and knotted forepaws frame the face and neck. The portrait is rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic modeling of facial features, the lion's mane cascading behind. The flan shows the characteristic irregular edge typical of struck silver issues from this period. |
