Obverse description Head of Herakles facing right, wearing the lion skin headdress, the scalp drawn over the crown with the foreleg knotted at the throat; the finely rendered musculature of the lion's muzzle frames the hero's idealised profile. The hair of Herakles flows in wavy locks beneath the pelt, and the eye of the lion skin is visible above the subject's ear. The field is plain, and the coin is bordered by a continuous dotted border.

Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a throne with cross-bar legs, his upper body nude and his lower body draped; he extends his right hand to present an eagle perched with wings folded, while his left hand rests upon a long sceptre. A trident symbol appears in the left field. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field. A dotted border frames the design, and a partial border segment is visible at the lower periphery.
