| Obverse description | Youthful bare head of Heracles facing right, depicted in three-quarter profile with fine naturalistic detail, wearing the Nemean lion skin headdress; the lion's scalp is rendered with the open jaws framing the hero's forehead, the forepaws knotted at the neck, and the mane falling in stylized locks behind the ear. The portrait is executed in the refined Hellenistic style characteristic of the Colophon mint, with smooth flan preparation and well-centered die placement. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse field. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left upon a low stool-throne, his upper body nude; he holds an eagle perched on his outstretched right hand and grasps a long sceptre upright in his left hand. In the left field a crescent above a lion head facing left serve as mint control symbols specific to the Colophon issue. The letter N appears below the throne as an additional control mark. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, reading downward, identifying the coin as struck in the name of Alexander. |
