| Obverse description | Bust of the Sasanian king facing right in high relief, rendered in the late Sasanian artistic tradition, wearing an elaborate winged crown with a crescent and globes surmounted by a korymbos. The effigy is encircled by a beaded border with concentric ring ornaments in the field. Arabic inscriptions appear in the marginal legend flanking the bust, replacing or supplementing the original Pahlavi legends characteristic of Arab-Sasanian coinage. |

| Reverse description | Central Zoroastrian fire altar flanked by two attendant figures standing in profile, facing inward toward the altar in the traditional Sasanian manner. The altar is depicted with a flame rising from its summit. Pahlavi or Arabic marginal legends encircle the design within a beaded border. Crescents or star-and-crescent symbols appear in the field to either side of the attendants, as is typical of Arab-Sasanian transitional drachms of this period. |
