| Obverse description | Effigy of Hormizd IV (Hormozd IV) facing right, portrayed in profile with a distinctive mural crown surmounted by a frontal crescent supporting a korymbos set upon a second crescent. Ribbons and crescent symbols adorn the shoulders, while stars flank the crown on either side. The marginal border is decorated with star-in-crescent devices arranged around the periphery. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic Sasanian late-period style, with fine detailing of the royal regalia affirming the king's divine authority. |
