| Reverse description | Deep incuse square punch of mill-sail or quadripartite pattern, divided into four rectangular compartments with hatched or striated surfaces, a typical feature of early Classical Thracian coinage. The magistrate's inscription ΕΠ ΗΓΗΣΙΠΠΟ (abbreviation for 'epi Hegisippou', meaning 'under [the magistrate] Hegisippos') appears along the upper edge of the incuse square. The reverse is fully incuse, consistent with the fabric of Abderite drachms of this period. |
