| Obverse description | A cow stands to right in high relief, her head turned back to regard a suckling calf positioned to left beneath her udder, a scene emblematic of the fertile pastoral tradition of Dyrrachion coinage. The composition is rendered with naturalistic detail characteristic of Hellenistic die-cutting. In the exergue below the ground line appear the piloi — the conical caps of the Dioscuri — serving as a secondary symbol. The magistrate's name ΔIOΓENHΣ is inscribed in the field, associating the issue with its supervising official. |
