| Obverse description | Bare head of Herakles in right profile, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the open jaws framing the crown of the head and the paws knotted at the throat. The hero's facial features are rendered with fine archaic sensitivity, exhibiting a strong jaw, prominent ear, and naturalistic curling hair escaping beneath the pelt. The flan is irregular and slightly bevelled at the rim, characteristic of Ionian mint production of the late fourth century BC. |

| Reverse description | Herculean club depicted vertically at centre, its knotted shaft rendered in detail, flanked to the right by a bowcase (gorytus) shown in three-quarter perspective with incised decorative lines. To the left of the club, an owl stands facing left with head turned to face the viewer, a civic badge recalling Athenian monetary tradition. The Greek magistrate's legend EPY ΧΑΡΜΗΣ is disposed around the devices in two lines, identifying the issuing city of Erythrai and the responsible magistrate Charmes. |
