| Reverse description | Stylized fire altar flanked by two attendant figures, derived directly from the Sasanian prototype of Varahran V drachms, though rendered in a highly schematized and debased manner consistent with Arab-Bukharan imitative coinage. The altar is depicted as a vertical column with a series of pellets or globular ornaments, surmounted by a flame motif, while the flanking attendants retain only vestigial traces of their original Sasanian form. Crescent and star symbols appear in the field, a typical feature of this series. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded or pellet border, and the striking is irregular with characteristic flat areas due to the hammered technique. |
