| Obverse description | Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with characteristic radiating crown of sun-rays emanating from the hair. The hair is rendered in naturalistic flowing locks falling about the neck, with finely detailed curls framing the youthful, idealized face. The portrait displays a smooth cheek, slightly parted lips, and a well-modelled brow, consistent with the high artistic standards of Rhodian coinage of the plintophoric series. |
