Obverse description Draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet adorned with elaborate decorative elements. The goddess is depicted in the Hellenistic artistic tradition, with fine facial features in profile. The field is plain, and the coin's irregular flan is characteristic of Armenian hammered silver issues of this period. The portrait reflects strong Hellenistic influence in the court coinage of Artaxias II.
