Obverse description Draped bust of the nymph Sinope facing left, rendered in fine Classical Greek style. The hair is elaborately dressed and bound in a sakkos, with wavy locks escaping at the front and nape of the neck. She wears a triple-pendant earring visible at the ear and a beaded necklace at the truncation. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan, with several pellets scattered in the left field likely serving as control marks.
