| Obverse description | Bust of Ardashir III facing right in high relief, wearing the distinctive Sasanian mural crown surmounted by a crescent and globe finial, with pendant ear ornaments and a necklace of beads. The king's hair is arranged in elaborate lateral wings framing the face. The effigy is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with Inscriptional Pahlavi legends occupying the surrounding field, and crescent-and-star symbols positioned at the three, six, and nine o'clock positions. |
