Apollodotos II ruled a fragment of the shrinking Indo-Greek territories during a period when Saka and Parthian pressure from the northwest was steadily eroding Greek-controlled land. He is one of the more prolific coin issuers of the late Indo-Greek sequence — Bopearachchi catalogues multiple square and round types under his name — suggesting a functioning mint operation despite the political instability surrounding his reign. The exact boundaries of his kingdom remain disputed among scholars.
