Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, wearing paludamentum over the cuirass. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style typical of the mid-second century. The encircling legend in Greek identifies the emperor with his full titulature. The portrait displays the characteristic mature features of Antoninus Pius, with a short beard and laurel wreath crowning his head.
