Reverse description Poseidon standing facing, his weight shifted slightly to one side in a contrapposto pose, holding an upright trident in his raised left hand and a filleted palm branch in his right. The deity is nude or semi-draped and depicted with assured Hellenistic artistry. The Greek legend, reading BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΘEOY ANTIMAXOY, is arranged vertically in two columns flanking the central figure, running downward on either side within a dotted border square. The epithet ΘEOY — 'the God' — reflects Antimachos I's divine pretensions and is a key iconographic feature of this coinage.
