Obverse description Facing right, the heroized head of Herakles rendered in high relief, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, with the beast's gaping jaws framing the hero's forehead and cheek. The musculature and fur of the lion skin are rendered with fine detail characteristic of the Colophon workshop. A beaded border surrounds the field.
