Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his nude upper body rendered with careful musculature; he holds an eagle perched on his extended right hand and a long sceptre upright in his left. The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs downward along the right field. In the left field, a griffin head facing left serves as the mint control symbol identifying the Sardis issue. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established at the outset of the Asian campaign.
