Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left, his body depicted in three-quarter view, draped from the waist down, holding a long sceptre vertically in his left hand and an eagle perched with spread wings in his extended right hand. The throne is plain. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs vertically along the right field, and a secondary control mark, the letter N (or similar symbol), appears to the left of the throne. The style and type conform to the standard Macedonian royal coinage of Alexander III as catalogued under Price 2583 for the Sardis mint.
