| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to left upon a backless throne, his body nude to the waist with drapery across the lap and legs. In his extended right hand he holds an eagle facing right, while his left hand rests upon a long scepter. The god is depicted in authoritative Hellenistic style with well-modeled musculature. To the left of the throne appears the civic monogram ΔΗ denoting the Milesian mint authority. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, and the design is enclosed by a beaded border. |
