Obverse description Youthful head of Heracles facing right, beardless, wearing the Nemean lion scalp headdress with the beast's jaws framing the forehead and the pelt draping across the neck and shoulder. The portrait is rendered in the Classical Greek style with fine curling locks visible beneath the headdress. The flan is slightly irregular, with a beaded border partially visible around the periphery. No legend appears on the obverse, the type serving as an implicit symbol of royal and divine authority.
