Obverse description Youthful beardless head of Heracles facing right, depicted in three-quarter relief with fine naturalistic detailing to the facial features, hair, and ear. The hero wears the lion skin headdress, with the scalp drawn tightly over the crown and the forepaws knotted at the neck, rendered with boldly engraved striations. The portrait is executed in the accomplished late Classical Macedonian style, filling the flan with confident artistry and deep relief.
