Obverse description Draped bust of the Alchon ruler facing right, wearing an elaborate crown surmounted by a crescent and consisting of layered decorative elements in the Sasanian tradition. The hair is rendered in voluminous billowing waves to the right of the effigy, a characteristic feature of Alchon Hun coinage derived from late Sasanian prototypes. The face is shown in profile with fine linear detailing. A Bactrian-script legend appears in the left field, reading the royal title and name of the issuer. The overall style is a barbarized imitation of Sasanian royal portraiture, executed with the bold, somewhat schematic engraving typical of Alchon Hun die-cutters.
