| Reverse description | A sea eagle with dramatically spread wings perches upon and grips a dolphin swimming to the left, the bird's feathers rendered in detailed relief with strongly articulated plumage. The eagle's head is turned to the left, and the dolphin's body curves naturalistically beneath its talons. The magistrate's name ΑΓΡΕ appears in the upper right field, while the civic ethnic ΣΙΝ is inscribed in the lower exergual area, both in Greek characters. The composition fills the flan dynamically and is characteristic of the high-quality die engraving associated with Sinopean coinage of this period. |
