| Obverse description | Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with carefully detailed wavy hair bound by a laurel wreath. The youthful, idealized facial features display smooth modelling characteristic of mid-Hellenistic die-cutting, with a straight nose and subtly parted lips. Flowing locks of hair curl down behind the neck and over the shoulder. The portrait fills the flan with no surrounding legend, the plain field emphasizing the high-relief effigy. |
