Obverse description Draped bust of the nymph Chalkis facing right, rendered in fine archaic-to-classical Greek style. The hair is elaborately arranged in tight, wavy locks swept back from the forehead and bound with a taenia, with loose curling tresses falling before the ear and along the neck. The facial features are finely modeled with a delicate profile, almond-shaped eye, and gently parted lips, characteristic of the skilled Euboian die-engravers of the late 4th century BC. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description An eagle displayed in right-facing flight with wings fully spread, its head inclined downward as it pecks at a serpent firmly gripped in its talons — a powerful symbol of divine authority associated with Zeus. To the right of the eagle stands a kantharos (a two-handled wine cup), serving as a civic badge or magistrate's symbol of Chalkis. The ethnic inscription XAΛ (abbreviation of ΧΑΛΚΙΔΕΩΝ) appears to the right in the field, rendered in Greek capital letters. The composition is bold and dynamic, filling the flan with confident engraving typical of Euboian coinage of the period.
