| Obverse description | Facing head of Hermes rendered in three-quarter view, wearing a broad-brimmed petasos helmet adorned with a row of pellets along the brim. The deity's hair falls in loose waves to either side of the face, with caduceus symbols flanking the head in the left and right fields. The facial features are rendered with characteristic late Classical artistry, displaying a slightly archaic frontality combined with naturalistic modelling of the cheeks and brow. |
