Obverse description Head of a youthful female deity, most likely Hera, facing right, rendered in fine archaic-influenced style with elaborately striated hair swept back and secured with a wreath or taenia. The facial features are delicately modelled with a smooth cheek, almond-shaped eye, and slightly parted lips. The hair falls in carefully incised parallel locks behind the ear, characteristic of the Euboian artistic tradition of the early third century BC. The flan is slightly irregular and the relief is well-centred.
