| Reverse description | A bull standing or lunging to the left, rendered in a sturdy, compact style characteristic of Aspendian civic coinage. The animal is shown with considerable vigour, its head lowered and body in motion. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border above and below, creating a decorative incuse or flat field effect. The ethnic inscription ΕΣΤFΕΔΙΙΥΣ appears in the field, representing an archaic Pamphylian rendering of the city name Aspendos. The reverse field displays the characteristic rough, slightly sunken appearance typical of hammered silver coinage of this period. |
