Obverse description Youthful male head in right profile, identified as a local hero or deity, rendered in fine high-relief style characteristic of late Classical Greek coinage. The hair is elaborately coiffed with wavy locks swept back from the forehead and gathered at the nape, with a small pendant earring visible at the ear. The facial features display a refined, idealized quality with a straight nose and softly parted lips. The field is plain, with no legend or inscription on the obverse.

Reverse description Eagle displayed in left profile, shown flying or swooping with wings partially spread and talons extended, grasping a serpent in its claws — an iconographic type closely associated with Chalkis. The serpent coils beneath the eagle in a dynamic compositional arrangement. A star appears in the lower left field, and a small floral or ivy-leaf symbol is visible to the right. The ethnic inscription XAΛ appears to the right, identifying the issuing city of Chalkis in abbreviated Greek lettering.
