| Reverse description | An eagle with spread wings stands facing right, its talons grasping a serpent that coils upward; the eagle's beak is engaged with the serpent's head in a dynamic struggle, a characteristic emblem of Chalkis on Euboia. To the right of the eagle stands a small figure of a helmeted warrior or hero, rendered in miniature relief. In the upper field, the magistrate's or ethnic abbreviation letters are inscribed flanking the eagle. To the left of the eagle, a small star or floral symbol appears in the field. The composition is contained within a shallow incuse square with a raised border, typical of hammered Euboian coinage of this period. |
